Video Games Tester

I'm sure this question has been up here more than enough, but I've never been to this section of the answers page. So sorry for all of those seeing this question again.

Quite seriously, how do you become a professional video game tester? My little brother would like to be one and out of curiosity I would like to know.

You have to be live where the company is located. We lived around where Acclaim used to be in Long Island before they went under. My husband got a job as a game tester because it was in the newspaper ad.

It sounds cool but it's BORING as ever. I used to hear that he had to test the football game over and over and over again because the programmers would fix one thing and break three others.

They normally don't pay a lot 7-9 an hour depending and you would be a temp. You have to then prove yourself that you are a good tester and you have to be a great communicator,i.e, show step by step where and how you found the bug etc. And maybe you will be part of the company.

It gets real stale real fast. BUT you brother can always try it out to see for himself.
